SATHY ry. (registered organisation) is a Finnish club devoted to dog breeds not recognized by FCI related associations (such as the Finnish Kennel Club, and some others). Most important breeds for us are the American Bulldog, American Pit Bull Terrier, Toy Fox Terrier, American Hairless Terrier and Olde English Bulldog. We're also working with many other dogbreeds.

Why SATHY?

Our main purpose is to defend these breeds against any possible media-crap attacks. We also fight against breed-specific laws and legistlations. SATHY is quite lucky having a great weapon to fight against bad talks against our breeds, that is - facts! After all, we are talking about pets. SATHY owns a library of laws and statistics (worldwide), if you have something to ask, don't hesitate to do it. Also, if you have stats or proven documents about these things, drop us a few lines.

SATHY consultates and co-operates with the Finnish ministery, police and all the big dog-organisations around Finland and around the world.

SATHY helps non-profit the people in Finland to buy good, healthy working dogs from all over the world. Mainly we have been buying dogs from USA. SATHY has good contacts with many respectable breeders and if you think you would like to co-operate with us, don't hesitate to contact us.

SATHY Activities

When you own a pure bred working dog you need some action! And SATHY is just the right place for that. SATHY organises a lot of activities for the dogs and the dog owners.

Weight pulling meetings - we call them "Mostly Weight pulling" because that what there is mostly happening. But an important part is also the "bulldawg talks", barbequeing, and the fun! Mostly Weightpullings are arranged once or twice per month, usually at weekends. SATHY tries to keep the Mostly Weightpulling meetings there where the owners are.

Power pull trainings - yes, this new sport is a succee and the because of the owners demand SATHY arranges trainings for it. And it is fun! Usually twice per month, weekends.

Rat race trainings - meetings where the TFT owners sharpens the terriers skills to the peak. The training is not all the latest news are swapped, fun meeting of friends, too.

Therapeutics - do you want to do some one happy? Join the SATHY Therapy dog team. After testing the dog and learning techniques and theory the working dog owner is ready to first visit with already licensed SATHY-therapy dog handlers some elderly people. Later with some experience the dog owner will get his/her own licence and start visit new friends and really make people happy. That's what working dogs are as best!

And much more! It's very important to understand that the value of the working dog is in what it does - not how it succeeds in conformation shows!

SATHY Super meetings & happenings

SATHY organizes several dog-meetings and shows every year. SATHY has it's very own, annual SATHY EXPO every summer (check out the latest events si 2001, 2000 and 1999 )and there we have the Finnish Championship competition on weight-pulling, here is the link straight to the latest weightpulling events
